Depending on which of the many different trim levels you go with, there are four different V8 engines available for this edition, with both gas and diesel options available. The first gas engine is a 405-horsepower 6.8-liter V8 that delivers 445 pound-feet of torque. While this is perfect for tough workloads, more power can be found in the larger 7.3-liter V8, which delivers 430 horsepower alongside 485 pound-feet of torque.
The two diesel options, both 6.7-liter engines, include a regular version that produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque and a 500-horsepower high-output variant of the same engine that increases torque to 1,200 pound-feet. All engines come mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission that lends the truck smooth shifting both on and off-road, and speaking of off-roading, the optional 4×4 system offered for this pickup easily tackles the toughest terrains.
Comforts and Convenience
The F-250 SD’s cabin comes with a 40/20/40 split-folding bench seat in the front row, a 60/40 one in the back, and extra cargo can be stored in the rear lockable underseat storage container in SuperCab models. With the dual-zone climate control and power-adjustable seats found in upper trim levels, you can easily perform work in comfort on the available interior work surface, and thermal settings are available for both the front and rear seats as well.
The truck’s exterior offers both a removable tailgate and a power-operated one, as well as remote tailgate release, depending on the trim level. A pair of heated power telescoping trailer tow mirrors come standard, as does a set of high-mounted stop lamps and tow hooks up front, while a retractable bedside step and power-deployable running boards are available for added convenience.

Innovative tech features found throughout this edition include standard offerings like the SYNC 4 infotainment system, upfitter auxiliary switches for attaching accessories to the truck, and a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot that multiple devices can simultaneously connect to.
